Policy analysis
The
Nat-IPM project is facilitating reviews of plant protection and IPM policy as
and when required or as advised by the Inter-Ministerial Advisory Committee.
The Policy Analysis component provides feed back for onward recommendation to
the Government. The Nat-IPM has designated a policy analyst who is coordinating
all such activities involved in preparation of recommendations for policy
options to reduce indiscriminate-/over-use of pesticides.
Policy
Analysis component’s activities include review of IPM research, evaluation of
existing regulatory system of pesticides, studies on policy implications for
SPS under WTO obligations, IPM impact assessment, progress reports, policy
analysis for optimum use of critical resources for crop management, problems
and constrains in IPM implementation during TOF and FFS system, project
evaluation and overall impact on farming community.
